Expandable graphite, also known as flexible graphite, is made of high-quality natural flake graphite, which is processed by high temperature and scaly into worm-like shape. Application:

As the expandable graphite has the ability of anti destruction and high expansion rate in high temperature, it can be used as an effective intumescent flame retardant material in the composition of fire-proof package, plastic fire-proof plugging material and fire-proof ring for building fire-proof plugging (such as sealing building pipes, cables, wires, gas pipes, gas pipes, etc.) Air duct through the hole, etc. The fine particles of expandable graphite can be added into the common coatings to produce a better flame retardant and antistatic coating, and improve its high temperature resistance and fire resistance. A large number of light non combustible carbon layers formed in the fire can effectively block the heat radiation to the substrate and effectively protect the substrate. In addition, because graphite is a good electric conductor, the coating can prevent the accumulation of static charges, and can be used in oil storage tanks to achieve the dual effect of fire and static electricity. Material characteristics:

1) High temperature resistant type: the melting point of graphite is 3850 ± 50 ºC, and the boiling point is 4250 ºC. Even if the graphite is burned by ultra-high temperature arc, the weight loss is very small, and the coefficient of thermal expansion is also very small. The strength of graphite increases with the increase of temperature. At 2000 ºC, the strength of graphite is doubled.

2) Conductivity and thermal conductivity: the conductivity of graphite is 100 times higher than that of ordinary non-metallic minerals. The thermal conductivity exceeds that of steel, iron, lead and other metal materials. The thermal conductivity decreases with the increase of temperature. Even at very high temperature, graphite becomes an insulator.

3) Lubricity: the lubricity of graphite depends on the size of graphite scale. The larger the scale is, the smaller the friction coefficient is, and the better the lubricity is.

4) Chemical stability: graphite has good chemical stability at room temperature, and can resist acid, alkali and organic solvent corrosion.
