Usage time
1. Temperature control: Low temperature carbonization, high temperature silicon adjustment
The best carbonization effect is achieved when the temperature of the molten iron is between 1460-1550 ℃. Excessive temperature can cause carbon burning. Therefore, it is recommended to complete carbonization in the low temperature stage during the early stage of melting, and then adjust the silicon content in the high temperature stage.
2. Particle size selection: Finer is not better
The particle size needs to match the furnace type: medium frequency furnace recommends 1-5mm graphite petroleum coke, which can dissolve quickly and avoid excessive oxidation. Particle uniformity also affects absorption efficiency, and powder and large particles need to be screened out.
3. Sulfur content:
The production of ductile iron requires strict control of sulfur content (S ≤ 0.015%), and it is necessary to use graphitized carburizers with sulfur content below 0.05%.
4. Nitrogen content
Nitrogen content exceeding 0.012% in gray cast iron is prone to porosity, and the type of carburizer needs to be adjusted according to the amount of scrap steel used
